The Dirty Little Secret of the Real Estate Education community is that the West Coast is DIFFERENT. But do they tell you that. No! Do they look at you from the stage and say, Oh yeah this does work here in LA or San Francisco or Seattle. All you have to do is add a Zero to the end.

Yeah That always gets a laugh but somehow it just doesn't sit right now does it? I never could shake that feeling when the speaker who buys and sells 100 or 200 houses per year in a market where you can buy a house cheaper than my neighbor paid for his Mercedes. Even the Blue collar areas around hear have a median priced house twice what these Educators pay for a 3000 Sq Ft, luxury home. They really don't get it now do they?

When the median priced home is $450K to $750K you are by necessity dealing with a much more sophisticated seller and buyer. Sure everyone put's their pants on one leg at a time. Sure everyone stretches to buy their dream house. Absolutely people go into foreclosure and bankruptcy in our market just like their markets. But those people in my home town are making allot more money and therefore they understand their options better and can be more strict and harder to negotiate with than someone who is only making minimum wage.

So what do we do that is different? How can we tackle this market anyway and still become a success. Well, I will let you know how I was able to go from a great paying high tech project management job working on one of the top grossing e-commerce sites in the world, all part time while still working those 60-70 hour per week projects. I will show you how I was able to replace my income in just 14 months so that I was able to leave all of that behind and invest in real estate full time with my family by my side. I was able to live the american dream and was even written up in the Seattle Times that to this day is still in the top 10 articles that are read in the archives. The Real Estate Journal (part of the Wall Street Journal) even wrote about one of my average deals in their online feature "My Investments". I am just telling you about this to let you know that it can be done. I was just one of several people that started at the same time that am experienceing success in real estate investing.
